Publisher "Penguin" sued "Yandex"

Publisher "Penguin" sued "Yandex"Publisher "Penguin" addressed in the Moscow Arbitration Court with a lawsuit against the company "Yandex", according to "Vedomosti" in its issue of November 24. "Penguin" requires "Yandex" removed from search results links to illegally posted books.

In the "Penguin" the newspaper explained that it is about the publisher site "Algorithm-book", which have been found illegal copies of books Daria Series, Tatiana Ustinova Nick Perumova and others. Subsequently, "Algorithm-book" agreed to remove the book from the site, but users can still find them by searching for "Yandex", indicated by the publishing house.

It is noted that the first "Penguin" filed a complaint "Yandex" demanding to remove references to resources. Search engine refused to censor search issue by proposing the publisher handle the administration of resources that host pirated content. If the information to be removed from these sites, "Yandex" will cease to find it.

Now the publisher filed with the court, demanding the "Yandex" compensation of 50,000 rubles.

In contrast to the "Yandex", that refuses to censor issue and delete links without a court order, the company Google for copyright holders can not hide from the SERPs pirate resources. So, in April 2011 for "Penguin Books" of the Russian version of the search engine has been removed references to the 106 sites (446 pages) with pirated copies of books, the rights to which are owned by the publisher.
