December 14 deputies of the Belarusian parliament ratified an agreement with Russia on the development and launch of spacecraft. At the same time, scientists reported that the launch of Belarusian satellite "Belka-2", which has been repeatedly postponed, may take place in the first half of 2012. According to the Chairman of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus Piotr Vityaz, now satellite "completely ready", he currently runs ground tests. Previous Belarusian satellite, launched in 2006, to put into orbit failed.

At the same time, the spacecraft "Belka" can not be considered solely Belarusian project. Commissioned by the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, the Russian company produces RSC "Energia".
